A Note to the Judges

Thank you for checking out The Wild Run! This game was created in RPG Maker Unite for the RPG Maker 2025 Game Jam, themed Beyond Expectations. It explores the theme through the journey of a rookie racer striving not only to qualify for the race but also to win it to save her sanctuary for beasts.

There are two possible endings (you don't need to see both). One ending ties beyond expectations to the remarkable actions of acquaintances, while the other connects it to defying the odds.

I also hope I have exceeded your expectations of what RPG Maker Unite is capable of, particularly regarding the integration with the 3D world.

Synopsis

In Amgora, where the rare gift of being a Beastborn allows a chosen few to bond with magnificent proto-beasts, lives Annhanna Ventress. Her sanctuary offers refuge to these incredible proto-beasts, often misunderstood and mistreated in the wider world. More than just a safe place, it's where proto-beasts find the Beastborn they're meant to be with. But Annhanna's heartfelt work is on the brink of collapse. A final, devastating notice has arrived from the bank ready to foreclose her property, threatening to destroy everything she's built.

Her only shot? The Wild Run. It's a legendary race that brings together the elite Beastborn and their bonded proto-beasts in a thrilling test of speed, stamina, and teamwork. The grand prize could save her, but the qualifying rounds are brutal, a wall no rookie racer has ever broken through. Now, Annhanna and her loyal proto-beast have to push beyond their limits, and go beyond expectations relying on their unique connection and her unwavering spirit to defy the odds. Can they possibly win the Wild Run and save her sanctuary before it's too late?
